A good architect already at the beginning of the design process keeps in mind, that the building shall be energy efficient and durable, but keeps the investment costs low as well. In the energy optimization, various energy and structural variations are examined in order to see how much the versions cost, what energy savings can be achieved with them, and with the current energy prices when will it be recoverable.

How thick thermal insulation shall be used?
