The steps of energy certification - technical background

1. Calculation of the building's heat demand

In case of existing buildings: analyzing the structure, surveying the precise size, identifying the building engineering system and analyzing the datas with WinWatt(energetic software). This is the same procedure in case of newly constructed houses with the little difference of we only calculate from the plans and optimizing at the same time. We take cognizance of the building's thermal balance (heat demand from different sources and heat gains) and we get information what is the energy demand of the heating and the DHW. We analyze the amount of overheating in the summer and what are the most critical points in the aspect of overheating and thermal bridges.

2. Determine the building's energy class

According to the total energy attributes, namely the building's energy demand in primary energy we determine that which energy class the building fits in.

3. Issue the certification

In the knowledge of our responsibilites and with the register number at the Hungarian Chamber of Engineering we issue the certification. If the building does not reach the C class we recommend a rational remodeling of the questionable parts.

4. Optimization (optional, not mandatory for a simple certification!)

We examine different structures and building engineering variations in the interest of what each of the versions will cost and what sort of energy saving can we realize and in how many years will it payback with the current energy source prices.

Which parts of the building should be insulated? How thick the thermal insulation should be? How much help the changing of the windows and doors would be? Double or triple glazed windows should I chose? Should the glazing have some kind of special sheating? Which windows on which facade should be covered with shading to prevent overheating in the summer? Which should I install, a condensing gas boiler or a heat pump? In how many years the solar collector will payback?

We answer these kind of questions.
