House remodeling and modernization in Budaörs

New facade, windows and doors

In 05-09/2007 we made the remodeling and modernization of the existing two story house. During the construction we replaced all of the shoulders, windows and doors. We opened a new window on the roof to make natural lightning to the indoor staircase. We installed 8 cm dryvit insulation to the external walls and 5cm XPS thermal insulation to the footing.

Remodeling the roof

We pulled down the veneers and the panleing in the attic. We got down the 10 cm thick mineral wool thermal insulation tkaing care of we would like to use it further on. To protect the roofing felt and foil behind these we had to be aware. We enlargened and modernized the roof structure after the splitting and reused the 10 cm mineral wool plus we expanded it with 5cm. we built in a vapour barrier foil to prevent watering. For the covering we used plasterboards and strip floor.

The new roof structure got strip covering in an identical colouring to the windows and doors. We built up new gutters on the entrance side.

New kitchen and dining room

Under the new kitchen and dining room we unearthed 30 cm of soil and we made a new order of layers:

• 6cm concrete
• 1 layer GV 4mm bitumen sheet preventing watering (connecting to the insulation of the walls)
• 8cm step proof thermal insulation
• 1 layer technological foil
• 10 cm underlay concrete
• underfloor heating ducts
• 1 layer dispersal base
• 3mm slab levelling
• 1 layer dispersal base
• 1,5 cm tile with flexible glue

Basement

Before the building of the basement floor we changed the slab of the bearing walls to 3-spot linear poling. It was followed by the scooping of the concrete and excavating the ground to 30 cm.

We only could excavate the walls from meter to meter and build the walls with solid bricks bedded in cement-lime mortar. After the completion of the underpinning the walls were made free from the kitchen. We made the 2 layered 4 mm thick bitumenous insulation -preventing watering- in a way that it is connected to the insulation of the new foundation and the insulation of the kitchen. The order of the layers in the new basement is similar to the kitchen except the underfloor heating layer.
